What should i know to drive a BE-trailer with a license B+E?

License for category B+E is required for:

The holder of a B+E license may drive an assembly** consisting of a tractor vehicle in category B and a trailer with MPM* of more than 750kg and not exceeding 3.500kg.

» If the MPM* of the trailer exceeds 3.500kg, the C1+E driving license is required. The holder of a B+E license, issued before 01/05/2013, can drive an assembly** consisting of a tractor vehicle category B and a trailer with a MPM* or more than 3.500kg, provided that the MPM* of the assembly is not more than 12.000kg.

Driving license category B which was obtained before 01/01/1989 is also valid for category BE.
